<p>The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump system offers the functions of a traditional insulin pump alongside with the technological advancement of tube-free insulin delivery. The system consists of two main components: a small, lightweight and detachable insulin tubeless patch pump and a full-featured remote control incorporating blood glucose monitoring and bolus advice. The system with its modular design allows for bolus insulin dosing both from the remote control or directly from the pump as well as the option to detach and re-attach the pump without wasting insulin or disposables.</p><p><br> </p>
<p>You can test a demo tubeless patch pump to experience the wearing, prior to moving to pump therapy. It can be worn on the body, at one of the recommended insertion sites, without an inserted cannula. The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo demo tubeless patch pump is a model of the real Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump, but without functionality. It has the same dimensions and weight as the original tubeless patch pump.</p>
<p>For patients depending on insulin with multiple daily injections and patients already on CSII who would like to have a pump without tubing. The main target group are young and young at heart PwD on MDI therapy hesitant to move to CSII due to the downsides of the tubing of conventional pumps seeking for more flexibility managing their diabetes and insulin dosing with little impact on their active lifestyle.</p>
<p>The first generation of the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump will not offer a CGM integration. For future product iterations we plan to integrate CGM data into the system. The diabetes manager allows you to manually enter a glucose value that can be used to e.g. calculate a bolus. You could use your CGM device of choice in conjunction with the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump system.</p>

<ul><li>It includes a Quick Bolus option with bolus buttons on the pump itself giving you the option to bolus even when the diabetes manager is not at hand</li><li>The modularity of the system offers the patient plenty of flexibility to adjust the system to their usage behavior and individual needs. It is a semi-disposable system, which means that you dispose of those components only, that need replacement, i.e. the reservoir when being empty, and the infusion unit in the case you want to change sites. Diabetes manager
<p>The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo diabetes manager features include:</p><ul><li>Direct access to key features via the status screen</li><li>Integrated Accu-Chek glucose monitor</li><li>Clinically proven bolus advice</li><li>Option to enter glucose values manually</li><li>Colored touch screen with PIN/keylock</li><li>Set up and supply change tutorials</li><li>Pen-therapy-mode: to switch to pen temporarily, without losing important data</li></ul>
<p>We recommend always having the diabetes manager with you since all alerts and alarms are displayed there. However, you can bolus without the diabetes manager which offers additional safety and convenience in case the diabetes manager is forgotten or not at hand.</p>
<p>Your tubeless patch pump will continue to deliver your current basal insulin as programmed, even if you do not have your diabetes manager with you. Plus, you can use the buttons on the tubeless patch pump to deliver a bolus. However, you will not be able to make changes to your basal delivery or respond to alarms or alerts when your diabetes manager not available.</p>
<p>The diabetes manager does not require additional batteries. It uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can be charged via an USB cable.</p>
<p>The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo system uses Bluetooth<sup>®</sup> Low Energy (BLE) wireless technology and is secured so that only the patient’s personal remote can communicate with their tubeless patch pump.</p>
<p>Under ideal conditions, the system can communicate across many meters distance. For best results, we recommend to keep a maximum distance of 2 meters.</p>
<p>Yes, the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo diabetes manager uses the established Accu-Chek® test strip engine.</p>
<p>Yes, the system integrates the clinically proven Accu-Chek bolus advice.<br>The diabetes manager allows you to manually enter a glucose value that can be used to e.g. calculate a bolus.</p>
System-related questions
<p>The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump is attached to your body with the pump holder (an adhesive pad) that allows insulin delivery through a soft tube (cannula) - and lets you attach and detach the tubeless patch pump when ever you like.</p>
<p>The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump gives you the flexibility to choose where to place the system, from four possible body zones. Some recommended sites are the abdomen, hips, lower back, buttocks, upper thigh and upper arm. We recommend consulting your health care professional on the sites which are most suitable for you, since insulin absorption rates at different sites may vary.</p>

<p>The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump weight is < 29 g (filled with insulin).</p>
<p>The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump system can be detatched and reattached on the body, without wasting the insulin and pump itself.</p>
<p>The tubeless patch pump does not come pre-filled with insulin; you use the filling aid included in each reservoir supply kit to fill it with the amount and choice of insulin you need.</p>
<p>The Accu-Chek tubeless patch pump system can be used with the following rapid acting U-100 insulins:<br>Humalog®, NovoLog®, NovoRapid®, Apidra®, Insuman® Infusat, Fiasp®</p>
<p>The reservoir can be filled with 80-200 units of insulin.</p>
<p>The reservoir of the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo needs to be replaced when empty or after 4 days. The Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump base can be used for 4 months.</p>
<p>No, the battery that powers the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump resides in the reservoir. A zinc-air battery is included in each reservoir, so you never have to change it separately.</p>
<p>Generally 2-3 days, just like other infusion sets.</p>
<p>A soft Teflon cannula in two different lengths (6 and 9 mm). The insertion angle is 90°.</p>
<p>The insertion process is semi-automatic. The cannula will be inserted with the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo inserter via the push of a button.</p>
<p>The adhesive used is a cloth tape. It is a medical non-woven hypoallergenic adhesive, that was tested against DIN EN ISO 10993-1ff “Biological evaluation of medical devices” and successfully passed all required biocompatibility tests.</p>
<p>The tubeless patch pump system is splash proof, but it must not be immersed in liquids. The tubeless patch pump should be removed before taking a shower or bath, diving or going for a swim. However, the pump holder and cannula to which the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump is attached can be worn in water so you can easily disconnect the tubeless patch pump before and reconnect after any water activity.<br><br>The Diabetes Manager should not be exposed to water.</p>

<ol><li>Press and hold the two quick bolus buttons for 3 seconds until you hear a beep.</li><li>After hearing the beep, simultaneously press both quick bolus buttons – once per increment, until the desired insulin dose has been reached.</li><li>3 seconds after the last button press, the tubeless patch pump will then confirm the number of button presses with one beep per press to confirm the amount of insulin entered.</li><li>If you agree with the amount of insulin, press both quick bolus buttons again to deliver the quick bolus. The pump will confirm the start of the bolus delivery with a sound.</li></ol>
<p>Yes, this feature can be turned off.</p>
<p>Yes, the diabetes manager offers a feature of setting a PIN code.</p>
<p>Yes, the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo system has many safety features including an occlusion detection that alert the user if there is a potential interruption of insulin delivery.</p>
<p>Yes, the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump can be connected to the Accu-Chek Smart Pix software to download the data and will integrate with our other digital solutions and external therapy support solutions.</p>
<p>Yes, the Diabetes Manager supports 27 different languages.</p>
<p>Yes, You can do sports and participate in physical activities while wearing the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump. However, you should always disconnect the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump for showers and swimming, or in situations which could damage the insulin pump itself (contact sports, judo, boxing, etc.). And just like a durable insulin pump, you should remove your Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump in these situations: Hot tub, sauna or whirlpool; Beach activities and water parks; Heavy exercise or contact sports; Medical imaging, such as CT scans or MRI.</p>
<p>In general, the Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo tubeless patch pump can be used on planes. As some airlines prohibit the use of wireless technologies, accustom yourself to the Quick Bolus buttons before you travel, as you may need to activate the system's flight mode.<br>At most airport, security personal today knows about insulin pumps. Still it is advisable to carry a (multilangual, at least english) letter by your physician that explains that you need the pump, its supplies, insulin and other diabtes related supplies in you hand luggage. Do carry your diabtes related supplies your hand luggage, as you may need them on the flight and check-in luggage may get lost.<br>Remember that Accu-Chek<sup>®</sup> Solo may not be available in your destination, so plan ahead accordingly.</p>
